About Rajeshji…..

Born in a family of music lovers, Rajeshji was introduced to music at the early age of three. He is a senior disciple of the Legendary Flute Maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.  His professional approach and full-fledged training into the aspects of Rhythm and Melody started at a very young age. He has undergone rigorous training in Hindustani Classical music and had his initial lessons in Music from Sri K. Pundalika Shenoy. Having received an initiation of culture and tradition in the sphere of music, Rajeshji has always tried to maintain a blissful expression of Instrumental Music in his style of flute playing, merging with the Gayaki Ang (vocalistic character) to express the character of the instrument in greater depth and has received much appreciation for the sweetness in his music in the course of his performances, both as a soloist and accompanist, in music concerts held at prestigious music festivals.

His education combines the subjects of Commerce, Accounting, Law and Music. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the Bangalore University and later enrolled there for a degree in Law. However, his passion for music overpowered the desire to pursue career in Law so he decided to give up his Law course, since he had already become a professional Musician while pursuing his Law studies. Indian Music Studies require a full-time professional life commitment and with his formal music education from an early age paralleling the traditional Indian Music Studies from his Gurus, teaching about North Indian Hindustani Music and performing on the BANSURI, the Indian Bamboo Flute, has become a major aspect of his life’s work. His knowledge of western music, its traditions and styles, has enriched his teaching and his performance skills, making him sought after by the international sector of students from different parts of the world wanting to study the Bansuri and North indian Classical Music.  Rajeshji is also the Founder of NIRVAN FOUNDATION TRUST an Organization set up to draw a synthesis between Music & Spirituality.

One of his major achievements, at the age of 23, has been to win the First Prize in the national level All India Radio Music Competition held in 1989. As an approved graded artiste by the Music Audition Board of the Government of India through All India Radio, he gained opportunities as a full-fledged performer. He was appointed by All India Radio, Bangalore and had the opportunity of serving this prestigious institution full time, for almost ten years, as a Staff Artiste in the Department of Music. He has extensively performed both on Radio and Television and has been associated with the music industry as an established flautist, music composer and session musician. As a talented music composer he has composed music both in the audio and visual mediums.

His debut album “Vibrant Moods”, a CD of Instrumental Music composed and conducted by Rajeshji, was blessed and released by his Guruji The Legendary Flute Maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on the 4th September 2004. Also lined up for circulation are his other albums due for release in the series of “Bamboo Whispers”. As an able GURU, he is the Head of  “NAAD SHRINGAR” – The Academy of Music, Art & Education  and has been teaching music to students from both India and International students.  He has presented lecture demonstrations and technical papers, as and when called upon to do, so by various prestigious institutions. Seeing his dedication and also his ethical commitment to music education Rajeshji has been blessed with the title of “Acharya” by one of the Himalayan Masters Dhyananadaji Maharaj.
